Neck-Shoulder-Backmassage

  • Technical approach

For this massage treatment, I apply a problem-solving approach.

I first observe and assess physical movements for specific complaints. Then technical steps, strength level and muscle intervention techniques are determined.

I also examines the cause and history of a complaint and can use that knowledge to determine massage areas and possibly recommend extending a treatment into a series of sessions.

I put together a customized massage therapy especially for you. I work from a holistic health perspective

  • Treatment

The most commonly used techniques in this treatment are shiatsu and tuina techniques, aiming to intervene in deeper tissue.

The massage may feel deep, but should not feel uncomfortably hard. The rhythm of the massage responds to the rhythm of your breathing.

In certain cases, I apply massage techniques while performing controlled movement, thereby releasing blockages in deeper muscles.

  • Therapeutic effect

When massaging for mild complaints, you experience relief from muscle pain immediately after the massage.

Stiffness disappears and muscle flexibility and mobility are improved.

Some types of headaches, tingling fingers and aching arms caused by a stiff neck and/or shoulder, are immediately relieved. Thus, you soon feel "lighter" and "happier."

  • Follow-up advice

Are you starting this massage treatment? Then I recommend that you follow a series of sessions once a week for four weeks.

After that, I recommend that you increase the interval time step by step, for example once every two weeks, then once every three weeks until you reach once every four weeks. You can continue the massage treatments as a powerful foundation for your health.

Some pain symptoms may not disappear completely. Consider symptoms related to osteopathic- or other medical conditions. But in any case, this massage can contribute to good maintenance of your muscles and to a relaxed mood.

And that, in turn, contributes positively to treatments from other healthcare professionals.

Discuss your pain symptoms with me and other health care professionals so we can work together to find an appropriate treatment plan for you. Between massage treatments, certain products or self-care devices may be a necessary supplement for you to achieve the best possible results. Discuss with me what is best for you and feel free to get advice, I'm expert at that.

PREVENTIVE MEASURES BEFORE A NECK-SHOULDER-BACKMASSAGE

Neck-shoulder-back massage, unfortunately, I do not recommend against the following contraindications:

  • Fever, open wounds, recent bruises, muscle tears, sprained ligaments, bruises, chilblains or burns, serious medical conditions or illnesses, including severe and/or long-term mental illness, skin infections and pregnancy.

Please, discuss (when in doubt) your situation with me. I am trained to recognize situations in which massage will do more harm than good.

Do I identify a risky situation? Then I will refer you to a specialist who can help you better.
